Homemade Conditioner for Hair Natural DIY Recipe

This natural conditioner for hair recipe is an excellent alternative to commercial conditioner for hair. You can easily make it in less than 15 minutes and use it for hair treatments on both wet and dry hair. You will enjoy its rich, full, and nourishing properties. It has a subtle, fresh citrus fragrance. I love to mix it with natural oils like avocado, olive oil, or coconut oil.

Ingredients:

½ cup water

½ cup olive oil

¼ cup avocado oil

1 tsp lemon juice

Directions:

Pour ½ cup water and 1 tsp lemon juice in a small bowl and allow it to sit for few minutes. Mix the remaining ingredients well and keep aside. You can mix the mixture in a small saucepan or a deep bowl. I prefer using a glass bowl as it retains heat well.

The consistency of the conditioner should be similar to the consistency of heavy cream. So, once you mix all the ingredients well, keep the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes or till it reaches the desired consistency.

You can also keep the mixture in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. When you mix it, use enough water so that the consistency is like heavy cream.

How to Use It:

Use this homemade conditioner for hair to treat hair in the shower after shampooing. Wash your hair well and pat dry.

Then, pour the mixture in your palm and start applying it all over the hair in the same direction. When the mixture dries on the hair, it will provide a moisturizing and conditioning effect to the hair. You can also use this as a leave-in conditioner for natural hair.

Use the mixture to treat hair in the bath tub. Start applying the mixture from the top to the bottom of the hair and leave the mixture on for about 5 minutes. Then, wash off the mixture and pat the hair well with a towel.
